I always like that best, when you realize that the intrinsic structure of something and the characters that you've built start to naturally follow the themes, and I think it means that the work is on a solid foundation. You're right, with Nick, there's a lot of stuff in here that I hadn't even noticed, so it's quite interesting to see stuff when other people point it out.
